Running Music

What's the best running/jogging music?

In my opinion, rock is energetic, but may sometimes be too much so. I'd say it's best when you need a push to finish. I sometimes use hip-hop, but what I've found to be the most effective so far is Christian music! Try it yourself (cynics, let's not waste each other's time).

Have a blessed SWOT vac everyone...

Just Brief

Here is just a little brief update before a grand summary of the whole semester.

After the mid-sem vacation, there was obviously not much of clubbing. Everyone is busy. The most I had was going to KBox (karaoke) for Jermaine's 21st. But yet I left early on that night and someone (not that sobre) got pissed that she missed me saying goodbye =)

Then last week I was hit with a very minor and silly bike accident.
It was a rather sunny day. Flies were out. I was only say, 15 seconds away from where I usually chain my bike to. Thus I was (fortunately) already cycling on the pedestrian path. I was standing and cycling for I just finished an upward sloping section and my bike was on a higher gear. I reached a point when I just had to sweep those flies outta my face. And as I've done so, still standing on the bike, I put back my right hand to the bar. But it didn't exactly reach the bar properly. It didn't slip. It just pressed something totally unnecessary: the front brake. My body and the heavy sling bag's intertia pushed me toward, pretty head-first. But lucky I jumped off instead of plunging right on. Man... Sure was awkward. Just a few bruises on my right calf but mind you it was sort of gross for the first few minutes because I wearing shorts. Fortunately, again, I did not heroically try to go on cycling. The chain was sort of derailed, the back wheel (very) slightly crooked. It took me almost 2 hours to replace the brake cable, but at least it was rewarding to have something accomplished by myself. Why 2 hours? Imagine the trouble inherent in cutting a ten-thread (I think) cable with a pair of paper scissors. And a tealight candle, to heat it up hopefully to soften it prior to cutting. Now to have some credit to my ex: you were always the handy-gal who would fix technical stuff like these (e.g. my aviators and the disputed vacuum cleaner). Here's my gratitude.

Last week's Street Latin sucked because Jonathan was way too concentrated teaching and dancing off himself with this girl and left me and another student blank. I mean, picture a salsa instructor dancing with this girl the whole of 1.5 hours and all the time looking at himself in the mirror. Just hoping tomorrow's last session is gonna be good.

Lo-fi track highlight: His Majesty King Raam - Lemon Jelly
Lo-fi album highlight: Jaku - DJ Krush (2004, but it's the best s**t ever)

Deadlifting finally reached 95kg (partly thanks to straps), although my weight dropped another kg.

Reach of the Issue

The comment on the previous post surely highlights the astounding reach of a blog's audience. I must say it sure was a little shocking (that the post was commented by a subject herself) and exciting (that the subject's blog had a little rebuttal on a previous post). Unfair, unfair. You had me in your blocked list (I guess) and I couldn't see your blog's add. But it's all good now. We're not officially friends, but at least I'm glad we're not enemies.

Few Thoughts

Instead of regular updates, I reckon these factors contribute to why there's been a lack of entires:
1. I've started writing a personal journal again, after stopping for about 2 years. Imagine how it feels having your life unrecorded just because you had a girlfriend who would read something so personal of yours (plus journals are so neutral-natured anyway). Sometimes it seems like you have to buy love with privacy (don't tell me you disagree).
2. Exams, myself. Apparently studying is of main interest now.
3. Exams, everybody. And so it is to everybody, explaining the lack of happenings to update.

Then again...

It sure is shocking to see Jay Cutler beat 8-time Mr Olympia Ronnie Coleman in the recent show. Some say it's due to Ronnie's lats and triceps injuries. But I think he deserves it. Well done.

Heard of Hi Tack's Say Say Say (genre: house)? It was only lastnight did I discover it's a remake of an old hit, of the same title, a duet by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson.

As an elective next year, should I take Entrepeneurial Finance or Derivative Securities?

Oh, to you stressed up people out there, chill out =)

Mid Oct

With so much work, pressure, and trouble to find a new housemate, I guess the only motivation left is summer vacation - to go home.

Daft Punk and Busta

I guess I'm not the first to notice that the beats from Busta Rhymes' Touch It was taken from Daft Punk's Technologic. I still enjoy the track alot, but just thought that The Big Bang could have been more original and given Daft Punk a bit more credit.
