Malaysia!

After you've open your eyes wide enough Malaysia just seem so different now. I used to be happy growing up at this place, but after getting pretty adapted to a developed nation, one could come back and ask oneself, how did I manage to grow up here?

It's different, yeah, but alcohol speaks one universal language. When your high, it feels pretty much the same where ever you go. Maybe just a little more humid here than in Melbourne.

I think it just takes getting used to. Probably Malaysia is not that bad after all. I must say I haven't much complaint besides the climate. God willing, I will get a job and have much more fun before I leave.

Oh well. Let me just say at least I don't need to post up some critical article to get all the 'unconscious' attention I wouldn't otherwise need.

Be mindful, though, Malaysians, that you only ought to party, if you really ought to reward yourself.

(Apologies, sober version will be up soon)

What a week

Monday: Intermediate Macroeconomics paper. As mentioned below, the paper turned up relatively easy.

Tuesday: A bad Financial Mathematics II paper. Disappointed at how I did. QBH for XXL night. Pretty awesome.

Wednesday: Applied for special consideration. Chadstone Christmas one day only sale. Didn't buy anything though. All the stuff I fancied were too expensive.

Thursday: Cleaned the house. Dinner, then drinking session in Southbank. Stayed over at another friend's place. It's so about time we just sat down, boozed and just had trivial talks.

Friday: Sexpo was alright. Beach Club was even better. At first I was denied entry due to under-dressing. But it was a great night. A big pact of us were stuffed into a Maxi cab and went to Platform 1 for further partying. And finally back to my place for some fries, instant noodles and of course, more crap talking.

So What If...

So what if I was pissed drunk? Sure, it's been very long since I had this sensation due to 'dedication' to my studies. But has it really produced good results? Maybe we Aussie students are sorta accustomed to the 4-subject semesters. I'm doing 5 to make up for one that I failed last year. But really, I have no idea if the fifth subject will turn out as a pass or fail. It sure is disappointing. Very disappointing. All these years my academic life was headed along an 'actuarial path'. It was one of the things that made me me. If things turn out bad, there will inevitably be a big turn in my life. Yet another chapter closed. No more actuarial studies for me. I'd bet a 60% on that. But shit happens. And especially so if your doing actuarial studies. It's just different. Good luck me!

Economics No More

After years of economic subjects, finally there's an end to it. I can't remember exactly who told me that Intermediate Macroeconomics has one of the highest exam absenteeism, but these people will be really disappointed to find that this year's exam was relatively easy. A wrong choice of question, however, got me stuck somewhere and time didn't permit me to get another one done. Well, maybe there goes my H1. Plus, I will need 78 for an actuarial exemption.

That's it for now. Last paper tomorrow. But I just feel like watching Simpsons now =)

And 'So You Think You Can Dance'!

Stats No More (hopefully)

The joy is felt as people celebrate the end of Stats. After a mere 3 hours of sleep (was supposed to be 2, if the screwed up Motorola alarm actually rang), the 3-hour paper sure was a little exhausting. I hope it is over (i.e. I hope I won't fail it). Here are two of my friends' caption on MSN:

Bing Chien: shall burn myself with fire fueled by stats notes
Bernard: bye bye, gay pink book!

Ears: More Adaptations

First we had Daft Punk's Technologic vs Busta Rhymes' Touch It.
Then Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson's Say Say Say vs Hi Tack's Say Say Say.

Now listen to Kanye West's Gold Digger, then Ray Charles' I've Got A Woman.

By the way, my recent picks:
Push the Button (Chemical Brothers)
French Cafe (Putumayo Presents)

Boring Week

Boring week yes? It depends how I see it.

One paper down, four to go. But it's been quite a boring week. It's only been about revision, revision, and revision. I wish I could run as often as possible, but my legs give up before my heart does. Crap form? Maybe.

Food. Or diet actually. This week I've swapped breakfast with dinner, i.e. meals progressively lighter through the day (post-modernism; I believe that's the way it ought to be because our liver decrease in efficiency from the time we get up till we sleep). By no means a perfect endeavor yet. I mean it feels really sick to have to wake up and cook pasta with chicken breast fillets. Then to chuck all of them in. And there are still lack of plans regarding how am I suppose to cycle to campus with a full stomach if I go on doing this till next semester. But look at the bright side. My Nike+iPod kit says I burn about 140kcal per way walking to uni. I've lost about 2 kilos since. Mass or fat, can't tell yet.

Emotionally, there have been ups and downs. Dunno why. But I hope I'll be all good by the time I get back to KL. Really can't wait for the exams to be over. Plus with an internship to occupy me, I hope it'll do good. Although traveling can get tiresome and inconvenient in Malaysia. But heck yea. Something at least.

End of SWOT

Hi everyone. SWOT vacation is coming to an end. It is perhaps apparent that everyone's pretty stressed up, although I have a friend who thinks he is deliberately too ahead of schedule.

Last night's sleep was bad. I had to wake up early to attend Applied Maths and Statistics review classes. With already distorted sleeping hours, I only managed to get 4 hours of sleep. Haven't done that in ages. Although a bit loss in Stats' past paper review, I was happy to find that my analytical Intermediate Macroeconomics skills were not bad. Rewarded myself with dinner at Pacific Seafood BBQ in South Yarra. In addition, my brother managed to get me connection for internship in a major private bank in Singapore, although he had just (unfortunately) informed me that most positions have been taken. He however offered to forward my resume to other banks in KL, but I still hope that I'd be able to get into a major IB.

This week has also saw some improvement in my running distance. Although it's only 3.72km, I've doubled to that amount in less than 2 weeks. I'm very much a beginner. The Nike + iPod kit gave a little boost perhaps. Check out nikeplus.com.

What next? Exams (x5). Good luck everyone. Will be seeing you guys back in KL soon =)
